REIKI

In the late 1800's this method for activating the flow of Universal Life Force was rediscovered from ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit texts by Dr. Mikao Usui This formula for healing dates back some 2,500 years. Many believe it to be the healing method used by both Christ and the Buddha. Dr. Usui was in search of a healing process that would not just heal the body, but would also heal the underlying reasons for a sickness. These are sealed in the spirit or subtle body of a patient. Although healing arts that utilize energy are nothing new, he found that these arts depleted the healer's energy. So he traveled extensively in order to find a way that would heal the healer as well. This was how Reiki happened because it seemed to do just that.

Anyone can experience Reiki. It’s a practice which is suitable for all age people Reiki helps healing old wounds, gaining insight into past lives, and understanding the true nature of our existence. You learn to walk the way of life with a universal understanding.

Reiki is basically a hands on healing technique. A Reiki therapist has been initiated through a series of attunements to channel spiritual energy for healing mind body, and spirit. The purpose of the attunements is to purity the healer's Ki so that it vibrates at a higher frequency, as that of the Spiritual Realm, in order that healing can occur on a deeper than physical plane.

Reiki taps this super source to alter, change, and affect the physical. By using the hands to pass on the energy, the Reiki therapist can balance and unblock the energies of the body providing a more well-rounded approach to healing than conventional Western medicine alone.

Because Reiki taps into the Spiritual planes, it is not hampered by the confines of time and space. For this reason, it is possible to perform distance healings with Reiki. So actually, the client need not even be in the room for this healing to take place and be effective. This power to heal over time and space is one of the components that have helped Reiki to make a lasting impression on the holistic health and metaphysical communities.

A normal Reiki session includes placing hands on various recommended points on the person to be healed. Each position may last for a couple of minutes so that the entire treatment takes about half an hour. A treatment creates a wonderful radiance that is deeply relaxing and includes many beneficial affects for both client and practitioner. At the very least, you will feel very relaxed during a session, often to the point of falling asleep. A Reiki session always seems to impress those who say they find it difficult to relax.

As a Reiki practitioner, you can also treat yourself by placing your hands on yourself. Reiki will flow into you and begin its healing work. As in other forms of energy healing, a Reiki practitioner can also "send" a treatment to another person who is not in the same room or location. This is called Distant Reiki.

Reiki can be used as a preventive method to make the body's self defense mechanism very strong. It also helps one to restore back to normalcy after a sickness. Reiki is both powerful and gentle in its long history of use Reiki has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury including serious problems like cancer and heart disease as well as skin problems, cuts, broken bones, headaches, colds, sunburn, insect bites, insomnia, lack of confidence, etc.
Reiki can also be used to relieve stress, to overcome unwanted habits, to achieve desired goals, and to protect from harm.

Many Reiki practitioners have found that plants and animals also respond well to a Reiki session.
The ability to use Reiki is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master through an inititation / attunement process or ceremony. It is like a re-awakening of a talent that is lying dormant within you. For some, it may be possible to re-activate this ability on their own. But for most, it is far simpler to receive a Reiki attunement. Because of this, virtually anyone can learn Reiki with no prior experience or ability necessory. The attunement process opens the heart, crown and palm chakras and creates a speical link between the student and the Reiki source. The Reiki Master than explains and demonstrates its use.

After that, the student simply places her or his hands on someone with the intention of healing and the Reiki energies will automatically flow through the student into the recipient. Because of this unique attunement process, Reiki can be easily taught during a one-day class, or less. The Reiki Attunement is actually a powerful healing experience in itself.
Reiki is an amazing energy since it comes from the highest spiritual source. It has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. It is multidimensional and will heal the course of a problem on whatever level it may exist - body, mind, or spirit. It does not have to be directed by the practitioner. Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki practitioner's energies are never depleted: In fact, when giving a treatment, the Reiki practitioner is healed as well and always experiences an increase in life-force energy. People that already do healing work report their healing energies increase by at least 50% after receiving Reiki training. As Reiki flows through a sick aor unhealthy area, it breaks up and washes away any negative thoughts or feelings lodged in the unconscious mind/body thus allowing a normal healthy flow of Ki to resume. As this happens, the unhealthy physical organs and tissues become properly nourished with ki and begin functioning in a balanced healthy way this replacing illness with health.
We can now say that healing seems to happen from a combination of the person giving the energy, the person receiving, the situation, the presence of compassion and love, the energy technique and the divine will.
This wonderful healing technique is becoming more and more popular all over the world. While western medicine continues to explore alternative healing methods. Reiki certainly seems to be a very promising and accepted healing practice.
